HISTORIC HOME PLANS
COLONIAL SALTBOX HOUSE PLANS
The colonial saltbox house plan, with its distinctive roofline sloping from 2 stories on one side to one story on the other, can be found peppered across the landscape of New England and is especially prevalent around Cape Cod. The colonial saltbox house epitomizes the looser, less formal colonial home. Typically built of wood, with horizontal lap siding colonial saltbox houses have a stark, almost Puritan simplicity to their exterior.
